Fengshan is located in the northwestern plain to Kaohsiung . It
is also where the Kaohsiung County Government is. When Fengshan Town
was set up in 1946, there were 15 Lis. Now the number of Lis grows
to 78. The population increased constantly. Fengshan City was formed
before Ming Dynasty Cheng, Cheng-Kung governed Taiwan. The resident
from Fuchien Province came to Taiwan in Ming Dynasty. They discovered
Hsiaokang, Linyuan, Taliao, Fengshan. The land looked like bird's
wings. Feng-pi, the nose of the phoenix, pointed to Taiwan Straits
in the southwest. There are several hills which look like eggs. They
called it "Feng eggs". So this hill was called as Fengshan
tableland. Cheng, Cheng-Kung beat Holland and governed Taiwan. He
has ordered solders to reclaim land Fengshan hills. At that time,
there was a village there and it was called "Fengshan village." |
