The Pre-historical
Ta Pen Keng Culture Period |
5000 B.C. |
In 1941,
a Japanese called Kuo Fen Chin Yi announced "Feng-Pi-Tou Relic",
which proved that there were human activities in Feng Shan hill
south to Feng Shan plain, leaving pre-historical relics which
belong to thin-line-veined potteries culture. |

Cheng,
Cheng-Kung landed at Lu- Erh-Men. The next year he chased Hollanders
away, and set up Cheng- Tien Government and two counties, Tien
Hsing, Wan Nien. At the same time many people from Fu Chien
province and Kuang Tung province followed him to Taiwan. Lots
of Chinese swarmed to Feng Shan Champaign and developed those
areas like Chin Shan,Wu Chia, and Hsin Chin, Chi Lao Yeh. |

Kang Shi

Cheng,
Ke-Shuan surrendered to Ching Dynasty, and the next year the
Ching Government took over Taiwan and set up Taiwan capital
and three counties like Fengshan, Taiwan, Chulo. Fengshan County
Government was located in Hsin- Lung Chuang and Hsia-Pi-Tou
became more and more prosperous. |

Chu, Yi-Kuei
resisted Ching Dynasty, but surrendered the next year. It was

of His- Pi-Tou street, there was Kuan-Yin Pavilion Temple, later
called as Shuan-ZuTin Pavilion Temple which is regarded as the
first temple of Fengshan County. |

Due to
Lin, Shuan-Wen incident, Chuang, Ta-Tien took over the old city
of Tsoying. In 1786 the mutiny was solved, the county government
was moved to Hsia-Pi-Tou street. Hundreds of stores there made
it the biggest gathering place for businessmen. |

Fengshan
Commissioner dug Tsao- Kung Ditch and built city gate, cannon,
moat. Fengshan county's the crops of rice doubled. The city
became stronger and more prosperous. |

Japan took
over Taiwan, settled up governor-general, Fengshan belonged
to Tainan. |

Japan was
defeated in the WW II, Taiwan returned to China. Kaohsiung county
was set up and the county office was in Fengshan Town. |
