The Pre-historical Ta Pen Keng Culture Period 5000 B.C. In 1941, a Japanese called Kuo Fen Chin Yi announced "Feng-Pi-Tou Relic", which proved that there were human activities in Feng Shan hill south to Feng Shan plain, leaving pre-historical relics which belong to thin-line-veined potteries culture.  
Niu Chou Tzu Culture Period 4000~5000 B.C. "Feng-Pi-Tou Relics" of Ni Chou Tzu ancient culture, the main antique are thin-line-veined potteries.
Ta hu Culture Period 2000~4000 B.C. "Feng-Pi Tou Relics" of Ta Hu ancient culture with colored potteries and black potteries.
Niao Sung Culture Period 400~2000 B.C. "Feng-Pi-Tou Relic" of Niao Sung with red-brown potteries.
Chia Ching 2nd year in Ming Dynasty 1544 A.D. Portuguese ships for commercial purposes sailed by Taiwan and they complimented Taiwan as the "Ilha Formosa (Beautiful Island)".
Chia Ching 42nd year in Ming Dynasty 1563 A.D. Pirate Lin, Ta-Chien landed in "Ta- Kou Mountain".
Tien Chi 6th year in Ming Dynasty 1626 A.D. Spaniard occupied Chilung in northern Taiwan.
Chung Chen 15th year in Ming Dynasty 1642 A.D. Hollanders chased Spaniard away, then dominated whole Taiwan. fishing villages were formed in Ta- Kou, Chi-Hou.
Yung Li 15th year in Ming Dynasty 1661 A.D. Cheng, Cheng-Kung landed at Lu- Erh-Men. The next year he chased Hollanders away, and set up Cheng- Tien Government and two counties, Tien Hsing, Wan Nien. At the same time many people from Fu Chien province and Kuang Tung province followed him to Taiwan. Lots of Chinese swarmed to Feng Shan Champaign and developed those areas like Chin Shan,Wu Chia, and Hsin Chin, Chi Lao Yeh. Great Settlement Period
Kang Shi 22nd year in Ching Dynasty 1683 A.D. Cheng, Ke-Shuan surrendered to Ching Dynasty, and the next year the Ching Government took over Taiwan and set up Taiwan capital and three counties like Fengshan, Taiwan, Chulo. Fengshan County Government was located in Hsin- Lung Chuang and Hsia-Pi-Tou became more and more prosperous. Beginning of rule of Ching Dynasty
Kang-Shi 60th year in Ching Dynasty 1721 A.D. Chu, Yi-Kuei resisted Ching Dynasty, but surrendered the next year. It was the first major calamity Fengshan County faced. Old City Period
Chien-Lung 17th year in Ching Dynasty 1752 A.D. In front of His- Pi-Tou street, there was Kuan-Yin Pavilion Temple, later called as Shuan-ZuTin Pavilion Temple which is regarded as the first temple of Fengshan County.
Chien-Lung 51st year in Ching Dynasty 1786 A.D. Due to Lin, Shuan-Wen incident, Chuang, Ta-Tien took over the old city of Tsoying. In 1786 the mutiny was solved, the county government was moved to Hsia-Pi-Tou street. Hundreds of stores there made it the biggest gathering place for businessmen.
Chien Lung 54th year in Ching Dynasty 1789 A.D. Bamboos were planted around Fengshan County of Hsia-Pi-Tou Street in order to protect the "New City". New City Period
Chia Ching 9th year in Ching Dynasty 1804 A.D. Fengshan Commissioner Wu. Chao- Lin built six city gates such as Chao- Yang, Tung-Yi, Ching-Hua, An-Hua, and Ping-Shuo.
Chia Ching 54th year in Ching Dynasty 1814 A.D. Chang, Ting-Chin built "Feng-Yi Academy of Classical Learning".
Tao Kuang 17th year in Ching Dynasty 1839 A.D. Fengshan Commissioner dug Tsao- Kung Ditch and built city gate, cannon, moat. Fengshan county's the crops of rice doubled. The city became stronger and more prosperous.
Kuang Hsu 21st year in Ching Dynasty 1895 A.D. Japan took over Taiwan, settled up governor-general, Fengshan belonged to Tainan. Period of Japanese Occupation
Japanese Emperor Ming Chin 40th year 1907 A.D. The trains from Ta-Kou to Chiu-Chu -Tang started to run. Fengshan train station was in operation.
Japanese Emperor Ta Cheng 9th year 1920 A.D. Fengshan Secondary office changed into Fengshan Stree, and later became Fengshan City Office.
34th year of The Republic of China 1945 A.D. Japan was defeated in the WW II, Taiwan returned to China. Kaohsiung county was set up and the county office was in Fengshan Town. Period of Republic of China
61st year of The Republic of China 1972 A.D. Fengshan town was upgraded as county capital city and as the center of county history, culture, education, industry, commerce and politics.
93rd year of The Republic of China 2004 A.D. National Central Library set up "Windows on Taiwan-Fengshan City" website.
