          |  | With the approach of the 20th century, Metropolitan Kaohsiung 
            has set off for the construction of the Mass Rapid Transit System's 
            red line and orange line. This stride will help connect Fenghsan's 
            three hundred-year-old culture, relics, and life style with those 
            of Metropolitan Kaohsiung. This public transportation system will 
            bring rebirth to Fenghsan and hence greatly promote its quality of 
            life, art and culture and in turn benefit its economic development. 
            With this transportation network to be completed and operated, Fenghsan 
            will be refreshed, more visitors will be attracted to Fenghsan for 
            a trip or a tour around the three hundred-year-old relics, and what' 
            more, its 300,000 citizens will be benefited and thus are able to 
            live a more fulfilled and prosperous life.

          |  | On Dec. 28, 1990, the Kaohsiung MRT corp. was licensed and on 
            the following Jan.12, signed with the Kaohsiung Municipal Government 
            “the Contract for Construction” and “the Contract for Development”. 
            On Oct. 24 that year, a ceremony for the construction was held at 
            the R3 station, which implied that a safe, comfortable, convenient 
            and innovative MRT for the Metropolitan Kaohsiung would be made into 
            a reality.

          |  | With regard to the operation of the MRT in Fenghsan, the earliest 
            train will start at six every morning, and the latest train will run 
            at 11:00 pm. Both the red line and the orange line will offer a service 
            of more than 17 hours per day. During the rush hour, the train runs 
            at an interval of approximately 6 minutes, while in the off-peak hours, 
            about every 10 minutes. The MRT aimed at its great capacity and fast 
            speed will make four stops at Free Market Station (Tzu-yu Rd), Fenghsan 
            Station (at the intersection between Kuang-yuan Rd and Chung-hua Rd), 
            Ta-tung Station (Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial), and Fenghsan Junior High 
            (Chung-shan East Rd). These four stops are expected to make a tremendous 
            difference in this city's economy, culture, ecology, business and 
            tourism.

          | As for the construction of the MRT in Fenghsan, the following is a 
            brief account of it:

          |  | The orange line:
 The ceremony for its construction took place in the square of 
            Dr. Sun Yat-sen's Memorial Hall. It's meant to be completed on Oct. 
            30, 2007. It's a west-east line, from in between Ku-po St. and Lin-hai 
            1st Rd, across Ta-yung Rd, along Chung-cheng Rd, past the City Council, 
            Da-kang-pu, Min-tsou Rd, Ho-ping Rd, Fu-te Rd, Chung-cheng Stadium 
            for Martial Arts, Wei-wu Camp, then along Tsu-yu Rd, Kung-yuan Rd, 
            Chung-shan East Rd and finally to Ta-liao. Its full length is 14.4 
            kilometers with 14 stops equipped with a machinery plant. Except the 
            Ta-liao Stop, all the other stops will stay underground.

          | The red line:
 It goes south to north from Yen-hai Rd, Han-min Rd along Chung-shan 
            Rd past Kaohsiung International Airport, Kai-hsuan Rd, the Labor Park, 
            San-to business circle, Chung-shan Stadium, Ta Kung-pu, Kaohsiung 
            Railway Station, along Po-ai Rd past Cha Ha-erh St., Ta-sung Rd, Yu-cheng 
            Rd, Tseng-nan Rd, Nan-tzu Industrial Zone for processing, and finally 
            to Chiao-tou. Its full length amounts to 28.3 km, with two machinery 
            factories and 23 stations, 15 among which go underground, and two 
            go lifted.
