The
Government of the Kaohsiung County |

Ever since the surrender of Japan on August 15, 1947, the end
of the World War II, Japanese withdrew from Taiwan, and then the Chinese
army took over the government of Taiwan. Through the governance of
Holland, Cheng Cheng-kun in Ming Dynasty, Ching Dynasty and Japan,
people in Taiwan held a ceremony to celebrate the resurrection on
October 25 in Taipei. On November 9, Mr. Hsie Tung-min took the post
of director of the committee of the temporary government. The district
of the Kaohsiung Chou was then separated into Kaohsiung City and Pingtung
City. Furthermore, six districts-- Fengshan, Kangshan, Chishan, Pingtung,
Tungkuang, Chaochou-- were under the control of Kaohsiung County. |

The government of the Kaohsiung County was formally established
in the Kaohsiung Senior High School on January 8, 1948, and then was
temporarily moved to the Fengshan elementary school in Fengshan Town
on April temporary. The administrative areas of Kaohsiung and Pingtung
were established on 1952. In addition to the provincial city of Kaohsiung
City, there were Kaohsiung and Pingtone County governments as well.
Not until September 3, 1961 did the office of the government settled
in the No 120 Kuanfu Road Fengshan City. |
